Family G2
Basily
Basily sextet
Sinti — Netherlands
Style: Gypsy jazz / Jazz manouche
Dutch Sinti guitar family, neighbour to Rosenberg and Schäfer. Michael Dregni reviewed their record Swing for the Gipsies: four family chairs plus Martin Limberger and Sani van Mullem.
The gypsy-jazz chapter already named Basily among the Low Countries families. Vintage Guitar published Dregni’s review of Swing for the Gipsies: a sextet on four family chairs — Tucsi, violin; Popi, solo guitar; Gino and Zonzo, rhythm guitar — with Martin Limberger on guitar and Sani van Mullem on bass. Dregni: well known on the Dutch scene, little heard abroad. Django’s language, not the restaurant book.
